Perkins Academy User Experience Design

A User-friendly Digital Experience for the New Perkins Academy Store

Project Overview

Perkins partnered with Branch to conceptualize and design a brand-new user experience supporting the launch of the Perkins CVI Certificate and Perkins Academy online store.

CVI (Cortical Visual Impairment) is the leading cause of childhood blindness, yet it remains widely misunderstood and underdiagnosed. Through this certificate program, Perkins is equipping professionals to assess more children and improve outcomes globally.

Strategic Creative Approach

The concept phase explored various design approaches to create a seamless, accessible, and visually engaging experience for the online store. Our goal was to ensure the design aligned cohesively with Perkins’ brand while distinguishing the store as a unique element within their digital ecosystem. We tested iconography, color schemes, image treatments, illustrations, and graphics, ultimately landing on a direction that closely aligned with Perkins’ established brand identity.

Commitment to Accessibility

Understanding Perkins’ mission and audience, we prioritized designing a platform that meets accessibility standards, ensuring usability for individuals with diverse needs, including those with visual impairments. This involved implementing inclusive design principles and considering adaptive technologies.

Project Summary

We thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Perkins on this meaningful project and are thrilled to deliver a design that enhances their ability to empower change.
